Many parents are outraged by the new system, and have told their children not to wear the badges.

Brittan Elementary School in Sutter, CA, introduced the badge system on January 18. Each student must wear the ID card, which includes their photo, name and grade. A wireless transmitter beams their ID number to a teacher’s handheld computer when they walk through the doorway. A similar device is used to track livestock. View storySI Staffhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06791767232814084346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8704156237663823263.post-30055501432847113122008-04-25T13:53:00.000-07:002008-04-25T14:08:36.291-07:00News - ID badges create safe environment in school<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_FD-OF1mBA7k/SBJHqUSN0-I/AAAAAAAAABc/tn_QwLhUr-8/s320/School_ID.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5193292112636793826" />
Carmen Lindsey/Cordele Dispatch Students at Crisp County High School are required to wear ID badges while on campus.
